Development of a Workbook / Resource Guide for Purchasers and Health Plans on Promoting Diabetes Quality

Researchers conducted both qualitative and quantitative data analysis for the Lewin Group which utilized our findings to:

  1. Identify and add new information to the existing AHRQ Diabetes Care Quality Improvement: A Resource Guide for State Action from the 2004 National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) eValuate Request for Information on Diabetes Primary Prevention and Disease Management;
  2. Create a brief tool/guide to help translate the AHRQ Diabetes Workbook into a version designed for employers/purchasers; and
  3. Conduct two focus groups and two community exploration meetings with NBHC coalitions, purchasers and health plans that have identified diabetes quality improvement as a key objective to help ensure the tool created can both support community level improvement activities as well as be a potential agent for change.
