The Center for Health Policy Research surveyed 297 Pennsylvania hospitals identified by the Hospital Association Trust. The survey addressed many conditions associated with increasing hospital involvement in managed care and in community health, the creation of health networks, hospital cost and quality information reporting, and hospital structure and tax-exempt status for nonprofit facilities. The results of the proposed survey were combined with information from other hospital databases to enrich the analysis and interpretation of the survey results.
