Dennis Shea, Department of Health Policy and Administration
This task will produce a refined and updated cost simulation model for projecting the impact of a Medicare drug benefit on government outlays and out-of-pocket costs for program beneficiaries. This expanded simulator will be designed to permit quick-turnaround estimates for new proposals based on the latest data from the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS) together with realistic assumptions about program take-up, crowd-out, and drug pricing.
