Despite the growth in telehealth technology, little is known about its impact or the factors that lead to successful programs. Ownership is a key factor because it determines strategic initiatives and influences organizational performance. An understanding of the antecedents and consequences of telehealth in health care delivery is critical to policy and management decision making. This study investigated differences between for-profit and not-for-profit telehealth programs, and determined if these differences were explained by variations in stakeholder influence.
