Roger McCarter, Ph.D., is Professor of Biobehavioral Health and a faculty member of the Center for Developmental and Health Genetics at The Pennsylvania State University. He is Past President of the International Biogerontology Resources Institute and of the Gerontological Society of America. Dr. McCarter’s research over many years has dealt with mechanisms of caloric restriction in aging and in particular the involvement of energy metabolism in aging processes. His current focus is on the interaction of genes and environment on aging processes.

image of Gerald McClearnGerald McClearn, Ph.D.

Gerald McClearn, Ph.D., is Evan Pugh Professor of Health and Human Development in the Department of Biobehavioral Health and the Center for Developmental and Health Genetics of The Pennsylvania State University, University Park. His primary research interest is in the interaction of genetic and environmental influences on aging processes. His research has involved participation in several Swedish Twin Studies and in the use of inbred and heterogeneous stocks of mice.

image of Stig BergStig Berg, Ph.D.

Stig Berg, Ph.D., is Professor in the College of Health Sciences of Jönköping University, Jönköping, Sweden, where he has been Director of the Institute for Gerontology since 1970. His research has concentrated on aging of psychological functions and on care of the elderly. He was one of the founding investigators in the classical H-70 longitudinal study in Göteborg, director of the Octo Study of Jönköping, and has participated in several European and American collaborative studies. He has pursued a particular interest in the genetic and environmental influences on individual differences in aging processes in Swedish twins.
