Kinesiology Department News

The KINES-APG was formed in order to unite Kinesiology (and alumni from predecessor programs including Exercise and Sport Science and Health and Physical Education) with each other and with the faculty, staff and students of the Penn State Department of Kinesiology. Our APG promotes and supports the Penn State Department of Kinesiology and its alumni in four ways:
Mentoring
We encourage alumni to participate in the College of Health and Human Development Mentoring Program, which pairs Kinesiology students with alumni working in their field of interest. The Kines APG also recruits alumni to meet with Kinesiology students in other settings, such as the career roundtable panel discussions and career day.
Awards
We nominate Kinesiology alumni for College-wide awards and have created an “Outstanding Alumni Award” honoring Kinesiology alumni who exhibit professional excellence.
Communications
In collaboration with the Department of Kinesiology, we are building strong lines of communication with Kinesiology alumni through this Web site, newsletters and other publications.
Social/Professional Activities
And we are always looking for ways to connect and build new bonds of professionalism and friendship by sponsoring social events and networking receptions at the annual ACSM and other professional conferences.
We encourage all KINES APG alumni to GET INVOLVED and/or TELL US YOUR NEWS by:
- Joining the Kines APG and updating your contact information
- Letting us know about your career, status and accomplishments
- Attending social and professional networking opportunities sponsored by the Kines APG
- Offering to mentor a Kinesiology student at your work or via long distance.
