Spring semester has come to a close and the first six-week session of the summer has begun at University Park campus. I hope alumni mentors and student protégés are engaged in conversations, whether in person or electronically. The mentoring relationship allows student protégés to investigate and discuss with their alumni mentors such topics as coursework, on-campus activities, internships, resume preparation, interviewing skills, graduate school, and employment issues. Alumni mentors can draw on their experiences, expertise, resources and professional networks to assist students with their questions and concerns.
Keep the lines of communication open and stay connected throughout the summer. As students prepare for their final year at Penn State there will be many topics to discuss and options to consider. Be sure to keep in touch with our office to let us know about the successes and challenges you have encountered.
The College is looking forward to many events this summer. We welcome our new Dean, Dr. Ann Crouter, on June 1. In addition, three departments will be moving to their new locations on campus. For details and additional news please check out www.hhdev.psu.edu/magazine
