Director's Message
Welcome! We are very excited that you are visiting our Center for Family Research in Diverse Contexts Web site. Through this interactive venue, we hope to keep you abreast of current programs offered through the Center along with announcements of upcoming special events.
Just as this Web site is developing and changing, so too are the dynamics of our nation's families. By facilitating collaborative research, the Center seeks to enhance the lives of these families by creating partnerships with researchers and policy makers in community and nationally-recognized programs.
The Center provides the opportunity to work with individuals who represent all levels in our developing science, from the most senior scholars to the most junior ones. And like the families we study, our Center's programs contain a strong element of generativity that fosters a community of researchers who in turn help families meet the challenges in our diverse society.
We are eternally grateful to our Founding Director, Dr. Linda M. Burton, for creating our Center and bringing it to national prominence. We are privileged to have the opportunity to work with so many ambitious, dedicated people who share our Center's vision. Through their work and inspiration, our Center continues to flourish.
Yours in life and learning,
Emilie Phillips
