Two Cook Like a Chef! camp programs will be offered in 2013:
July 15-19, 2013
The Basics program features basic cooking techniques, such as mise en place, knife handling, how to make stock and soup, how to make sauces, safe food temperatures, how to choose a fruits and vegetables, meat cooking tips, how to bake bread, egg handling and how to make pizza. Taste workshops introduce the children to a wide variety of foods, including greens, whole grains, beans, healthy fats and milk and non dairy alternatives. Read more about The Basics.

Ethnic Chef is the program that takes the campers on a virtual world wide tour to savor the regional delicacies that contribute to the diverse food tapestry of our world. After a thorough review of kitchen safety and protocol, including measuring methods, knife handling, as well as handwashing and dishwashing demos, the campers will circumnavigate the globe to experience a world of regional cuisines before returning to the home cooking of Centre County.
