Global Leadership Experience Abroad

GLI students are expected to have an international leadership experience that relates to the GLI course content and to their academic aspirations. Students are responsible for securing their own international experience but course faculty are happy to assist as they can.

Students will be expected to maintain a blog or a journal/diary of their experiences to share with their peers and the next cohort of GLI students.

Students must purchase the necessary international health and evacuation insurance and to attend a pre-departure orientation session.

Although this experience is meant to be flexible, three weeks is considered the minimum amount of time for a student to gain an adequate in-depth experience. Students may use an Education Abroad or Global Health Minor international experience to count for the GLI international experience.

Many students who are going on a study abroad find that the GLI helps them gain the most from their experience.
