HHD Methodology Consulting Center:
Training and Education
The Center hopes to provide opportunities for graduate students to learn consulting skills. To achieve this, graduate assistants will be trained in consulting methods. This training will include an evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses in different areas of statistics. Training to increase the number of strengths will be provided by Center staff under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director. When they are deemed ready to meet with clients, graduate students will set up regular hours that will serve as drop-in consulting hours. These hours and this service will be advertised to members of the College. If when their questions exceed the scope of the graduate assistant, clients will be referred to one of the Center consultants. Once drop-in hours are established, the student will continue to meet with consulting stuff to receive feedback and suggestions related to consultations.
The Center also hopes to conduct occasional workshops on important topics in methodology of common interest to members of the College and social science faculty researchers. Topics suggestions from all are welcomed.
