The HDFS program offers many possibilities for graduate students to become involved in international education and research. The Department has a formal exchange program with Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany, where our students can spend a semester in residence as well as the opportunity to take short-term courses at Jönköping University in Jönköping, Sweden, and on occasion in other locations.
Graduate students may also work with faculty on studies that have an international focus. Faculty have research collaborations in many different countries including: Australia, Germany, Britain, Ireland, Japan, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey and Vietnam. Research covers a wide range of topics from early development to old age, family life, social change and prevention.
