Dr. Eisele Retires After 31 Years
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.– Fred Eisele, Ph.D., retired after 31 years of distinguished service. He began his Penn State career as an assistant professor of community development in 1973. In 1984, Eisele moved to the department of health policy and administration where he remained until his retirement in December 2004. He served as head of the department from1990 to 1996.
His research interests included health care policies and politics as well as marketing and strategic planning. Eisele enjoyed teaching health services policy issues. He was awarded the Schreyer Institute for Innovation in Learning Faculty Fellowship in 1996 and 1998 and served on the faculty steering committee for the Institute.
Eisele received his doctorate in political science from New York University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.
