College lauds Rose Allison for staff achievement

Edie Rose Allison, proposal and grant aide in the Department of Health Policy and Administration and the Center for Health Care and Policy Research (CHCPR), is the latest recipient of the Carol Clark Ford Staff Achievement Award.

This award recognizes outstanding achievement by a staff, clerical, or technical service employee of the College of Health and Human Development. Specifically, this employee “makes it easier for others to accomplish their objectives effectively and efficiently.”

This award attempts to honor those whose behind-the-scenes efforts contribute to the success and accolades of the college’s faculty and administrators.

A Clark Award recipient, according to the award criteria,

Dr. Pamela Farley Short, director of CHCPR and professor of health policy and administration, nominated Allison for the award. She says Allison’s efficiency and positive outlook are among her most impressive qualities.

“Most faculty find that budget and grants administration is the most frustrating and painful part of doing research. But Edie makes it easy for us. In fact, she’s so pleasant and good to work with, it’s almost fun,” Short says.

In addition to the honor of being chosen for the award, Allison will receive a $500 award and a plaque during the College of Health and Human Development Faculty and Staff Awards ceremony on October 22.

Allison says she is proud of the work she and her HPA coworkers provide to the health services industry. The award, she says, adds to that feeling of pride.

"It's an enormous honor to receive this award.  The Department of Health Policy and Administration and the Center for Health Care and Policy Research are shaping both our nation's health care policy and the leaders of health services for our future,” she says. “It's gratifying to know that I, in partnership with all the other staff who work with me along the way, can contribute to that effort."
