) at The Pennsylvania State University seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position to teach and conduct research in the area of Gaming and Casino Management.
Duties will include teaching four different gaming classes and managing the undergraduate gaming emphasis. The successful candidate for this position will exhibit the potential to establish a strong research program, actively publish in appropriate journals, and mentor graduate students.
The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate; the potential for teaching excellence; the ability to build relationships with practitioners in the gaming industry inside and outside Pennsylvania; and the capacity to apply disciplinary knowledge to solutions in the hospitality field as well as conduct interdisciplinary research and work collaboratively with others across the University. Applicants who have been involved with sponsored research projects, have an established publication record, have appropriate gaming industry experience, and who can be appointed to the School of Hospitality Management’s graduate faculty would be desirable.
The Pennsylvania State University is a land-grant research institution with approximately 43,000 students at the main campus in University Park and 40,000 students at the University’s other campus locations. The School of Hospitality Management, an academic unit within the College of Health and Human Development (http://www.hhdev.psu.edu/
), has approximately 700 undergraduate and 20 graduate students at the University Park campus, and a faculty of 30 full-time professors and instructors.
