Student Computing

These initiatives are usually funded with proceeds from the Student IT Fee. The purpose of these projects are to enhance the computing environment of students who have activities in our buildings. In the past this project has delivered hallway computer stations to various buildings we occupy- approximately 20 stations during the project's heyday. We have deployed both PCs and Macs but due to a shortage of available hall space and little demand for the Apple units we are only providing PC solutions at this time.

This project is a joint effort between the College of Health and Human Development and Penn State's Information Technology Services group. Through this partnership, the hallway stations are very similar to an ITS lab computer.

As soon as the technolgy matures we are planning to deploy a new stand-up, low profile hallway station. Keep an eye on the halls of South Henderson for these to appear.
