Graduate Programs Mission

The mission of the Graduate Program in Kinesiology at The Pennsylvania State University is threefold:

  1. To recruit, advise, and mentor top-quality graduate students, emphasizing Ph.D. candidates, with the goal of developing future outstanding scholars and researchers;
  2. To create and disseminate new knowledge through research and related scholarly activity; and
  3. To provide quality instruction of both graduate students and undergraduate majors in the Department of Kinesiology. Such instruction takes place on different levels, many of which are not in a formal classroom setting (specifically working one-on-one with graduate students).
