60’s
Ann Tourigny Turner ’69g CD FR, ’79g CSPD was inducted into the 2006 Class of Fellows of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and The Center for Association Leadership at their annual meeting and exposition held in Boston. The Fellows program recognizes individual accomplishments and contributions to the association community and is a call to continued service. Fellows are ambassadors for the association community and serve as role models and mentors for individuals who are interested in making a commitment to a career in associations. Dr. Turner is executive director of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee.
70’s
Norbert (Bert) S. Rahl ’74 I F S is the director of the Benjamin Rose Institute mental health department in Cleveland, Ohio. He first joined the Institute in 1974 as a social worker. He was then designated as an advanced clinician including the role of housing liaison with the Cuyahoga County Community Mental Health Board.
Jeff Schoepf ’77 L E C has been board certified as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS International. The CPP certification is the benchmark professional certification for a security manager in the private sector. He is the security manager for Alcoa’s Research and Development facility and is responsible for all security issues at the site. He lives in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania.
Nancy A. Busch, ’79g HD FS dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Fordham University has been named chief research officer and associate vice president for academic affairs. As chief research officer, she will serve as the internal and external advocate for research-related issues, and as academic affairs liaison with other areas in the University.

Patti Zuzelo ’81 NURS published a book The Clinical Nurse Specialist Handbook (2007). Sudbury, MA: Jones & Bartlett Pub. She is an associate professor at La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Kimberly Densevich Lessard ’82 RC PK is head coach of Washington College (Chestertown, Maryland) Mens’ and Women’s Swimming since 1990. She was inducted into the Washington College Athletic Hall of Fame for recording 219 wins, coaching eighteen All-Americans and her winning percentage is the highest for any woman coach. In 2002 she coached the women to a 13-0 record.
Adam Garfein ‘87g, ’89g HD FS is the co-author of a new business book Profit Mapping: A Tool for Aligning Operations with Future Profit and Performance. He is co-founder of Menawat & Company (www.menawat.com)

Ted Vickey ’91 EX SCI has become a member of The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s nonprofit fitness advocate. He has been vice president of Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. in Vienna, Virginia since 2001. His responsibilities include operations, sales, consulting and client account management for the fitness management and wellness screenings division of the company. From 1995-2005 he was the executive director of the White House Athletic Center, serving the health, fitness and wellness needs of the staff of the Executive Office of the President for the Clinton and Bush administrations.
William Miller ’94g H P A is the operations manager for the healthcare division of Creditek, a company that does revenue cycle management (partial and full source) for businesses and healthcare organizations. The company is based in Parsippany, New Jersey with an office in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Bill currently works with two hospitals and one supply company.
Robert Goldberg ’97 H P A is practice operations associate for the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Gilda Ho VanderHeyden ’97 H P A and her husband welcomed Jolene Carolynn VanderHeyden to the family on September 24, 2006.
Christopher Cain ’98 R P M, ’04g LE ST has received the Bill Strausbaugh award for outstanding PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) mentorship at the January 4th PGA Chapter Awards dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the professional golf management director at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
Matthew Lester ‘99g M H A is the director of Healthcare and Higher Education Practice for the Huron Consulting Group. He is responsible for practice development of the group on the West coast and consulting for clients conducting biomedical research, in particular clients that conduct clinical research. Recent projects include advising leading academic medical centers on strategies to manage their clinical portfolios, assisting a genomics research institute on evaluating strategic partnering opportunities and assisting clients with improving operations and compliance with federal regulations.

Jamie (Patterson) Hernandez ’00 HD FS and her husband Marcus have launched a web business www.educationregistry.com. The couple founded the registry in August 2006 in New York, New York. Recently married, they wanted to ask their loved ones to help pay off their student loan debt but could not find an appropriate means to do so. The registry was created so that couples and parents could ask for what they really want and need – education for themselves and their children.
Lauren (Dorman) Zarom ’01 NUTR has successfully completed the Certification Examination for Diabetes Educators and has achieved Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) status. Candidates must meet rigorous credential and professional practice experience requirements to be eligible to take the examination. She is a licensed registered dietitian. Her next goals are to become insulin pump certified and complete her master’s degree in nutrition from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in the fall of 2007.
Joseph F. Taranto, D.C. ’01 KINES is a chiropractor with Park Avenue Chiropractic, Inc. in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Brian Lago ’02 H P A and Kelly Ryan ’02, ’04g H P A were married June 29, 2006 in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Kelly started a 2-year administrative fellowship at Lehigh Valley Hospital in July and Brian is assistant director of human resources at Eagleville Hospital.
Nicholas Wagner ’05 KINES is the director of operations and an occupational athletic trainer with Occupational Athletics, Inc. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Heidi Gregory ’06 H P A is a broker and account executive manager for Atlantis Health Plan, Inc. in New York, New York. Atlantis is a small, privately owned health insurance company offering HMO, POS, and Healthy NY products.
Michelle Fenush ’06 H P A is the grant manager for Clearfield Hospital in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. As well as research, writing and managing grants, she works on government relations and assists the marketing director and foundation coordinator.
Jessica Rada ’06 H P A is working as a healthcare consultant for Towers Perrin in Washington, DC. Towers Perrin is a global professional consulting company.
In Memoriam
Margaret L. Campbell Titley ’43 H Ec died May 29, 2006 in Pensacola, Florida. Before her marriage to Richard Titley ’44 LA she taught home economics and worked for the Pennsylvania Extension Service. She is survived by her husband, two daughters and four grandchildren.
