Maryann Peins ’58g C SPH has retired from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, with the rank of Professor Emerita of Speech Pathology. She was also the former director of the graduate program in Speech Pathology at Rutgers. Ms. Peins is a licensed speech-language pathologist, audiologist and librarian. The Speech-Language-Hearing Association bestowed the honor of ASHA Fellow as well as certificates of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SPL) and in Audiology (CCC-A).

Tyrone Belcher ’74 H P A is a career agent for Mutual of Omaha in Atlanta, Georgia offering many financial services and insurance products throughout the state of Georgia.
’80s
David Kiser ’80g PH ED, ’82g PHYSIO has been elected by Kodak’s Board of Directors for the position of vice president. He is director and vice president of Health, Safety and Environment for Kodak in Rochester, New York. He leads their global emphasis on sustainability and health, safety and environmental stewardship.
Gary M. Santel ’81 FS HA is a public health nutrition administrator with the Allegheny County Health Department Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. He was recently appointed to the food cost management committee of the National WIC Association. Gary underwent a kidney transplant on January 18, 2005 at Allegheny General Hospital. The transplant was made possible by his sister Lisa. The transplant was a “huge success” and he returned to work eight weeks following surgery.
Stephen Kadar, Jr. ’82 M E R is a design architect for Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. in Newport News, Virginia.
Chip Deitrich ’85 PH ED has been named the chief financial officer for Evergreen Counseling Center in Hoquiam, Washington.
Judy Barkus Meehan ’87 H P A is the executive director at the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition in Alexandria, Virginia. The nonprofit is a leader in maternal and child health that networks the many players who can make a difference for mothers, babies and families.
Maureen Duffy ’88 H P A is a manager with Navigant Consulting, Inc. in Tampa, Florida.
Captain Robert Ginsburg ’89 NURS has been serving as an active Air Force Reservist with the 944th MDS and has been appointed infection control and blood borne pathogen officer in charge of the 944th Fighter Wing (USAF, Reserves) Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Robert also continues to work as a full-time emergency department nurse in the Phoenix metro area, maintaining trauma level one, adult, OB/GYN, and pediatric emergency nursing proficiency. In what is left of his free time he also participates in community focused CPR training for which he is an instructor. He is married with three children. Francine Scarpino ’89 I F S is currently working at Case Management Support Services in Erie, Pennsylvania as a licensed clinical social worker. Since 2003 she has worked closely with both the Erie County Office of Children and Youth and Juvenile Probation on new Commonwealth initiatives through the provision of behavioral health and drug and alcohol assessments to children and adolescents who are detained in either shelter or detention settings. Since May 2005 she has been an active member in the development and implementation of the Erie County Juvenile Treatment Court. She has recently joined the Alumni Mentoring Program of the College of Health and Human Development. In 1996 she received her MSSA from Case Western Reserve University.

Greg Downey ’90 H P A is the vice-president of network and branded entertainment business affairs for NBC Entertainment. He will handle business affairs for both the NBC Network and NBC Universal Cable-Branded Entertainment teams in addition to day-to-day business affairs responsibilities across all dayparts. Prior to joining the company in 2003 he worked for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) holding such posts as director of business development for entertainment properties as well as senior manager of marketing.
David Miller ’92 EXSCI is the owner of D.A.M. Good Bodies Elite Personal Training in Adventura, Florida. He trains private clients ranging from professional, college and high school athletes to busy executives and professionals. He can be reached through his Web site www.damgoodbodies.com.

Diedra Henry Spires ’02 H P A has been named a Brookings Institution Congressional Fellow for 2006. She is currently at The Office on Women’s Health in the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Corey Scarpero, RD, ’03 HR&IM is an information specialist with the National Agricultural Library in Beltsville, Maryland. She was featured on the front page of the October 2005 Agricultural Research magazine from the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
Joey Frengel ’04 H P A is the admissions/marketing coordinator for Avalon Nursing Center in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Karen Elaine Bickel Mason ’74 NURS died January 21, 2005.
Lee Ann Bonne Wagner ’48 PH ED died on August 16, 2005. She was an associate professor of physical education at Dickinson College. She initiated five varsity sports for women and was coach of the women’s field hockey, tennis, basketball, swimming and lacrosse teams. In 1992 she was inducted into the South Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and in 1994 she was also inducted into the Dickinson College Sports Hall of Fame.
