Graduate Education in the College of Health and Human Development
In its 2002-2005 strategic plan, the College of Health and Human Development made a commitment to increase its investment in graduate education. As a result of efforts over the past four years, more graduate students than ever are receiving financial support. This, in turn, helps to attract the “best and brightest” students to the College. It also allows students, particularly doctoral students, to conduct research that can jump start their careers. In the articles that follow, you will meet two individuals whose experiences exemplify the many opportunities available to graduate students in the College, as well as an alumnus whose research as a doctoral student gave him a head start on his career.
