HHD Launches International Program in Aging Research

In June 2007, the College of Health and Human Development will launch the International Program in Aging Research directed by Dr. Roger McCarter and Dr. Gerald McClearn, professors in the Department of Biobehavioral Health. This two-week institute will be held at Jönköping University in Sweden from June 11-22. It is designed for graduate and post-doctoral students in biobehavioral health and related disciplines who are interested in exploring complex mechanisms of aging based upon by the study of mammalian models. The Institute’s faculty are internationally prominent researchers in the field of biogerontology. The 2007 inaugural event will be planned in collaboration with the International Biogerontology Resources Institute.
Participants can earn up to 6 graduate credits from the Department of Biobehavioral Health at Penn State. Applications are currently being accepted.
