In describing the development of presentations on useful internet sites for nurses in rural communities, the author identifies barriers to use of the internet, the little that is known about levels of access and support from agencies for nurses' professional use of the internet, and the kinds of information rural nurses seek. Literature identifying reasons nurses should use the internet drove development of the sessions. The article includes assessment methods for the sessions and a list of websites considered useful.
