Outreach, Online, and International Programs in the College of Health and Human Development (HHD)

As Pennsylvania’s only land-grant institution, Penn State has a responsibility that goes above and beyond that of any other college or university in the Commonwealth. We must ensure that our scholarship, research and outreach activities contribute to the betterment of the lives of people in Pennsylvania and beyond. The College of Health and Human Development takes this responsibility very seriously.

Because of our interest in issues that improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities, College of Health and Human Development is uniquely positioned to be an academic leader in extending that knowledge to health care professionals, school personnel, human service workers, community leaders, parents, and many others through a range of outreach programs. As we strive to respond to needs of people and communities, our outreach efforts take on many forms – conferences, workshops, clinical services, continuing and distance education programs, youth camps, technical assistance, and service learning. By forming strategic partnerships, we are able to extend our reach and enhance our impact in ways that benefit society at-large.
