Undergraduate Student Profiles

Students in the College of Health and Human Development gain tremendous experience, become leaders, and have a huge impact on the lives of people. Learn more about some of the unique ways in which Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management students are advancing their own careers and helping the people around them.

Current Student—Nicole Wells is a Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management student who loves working with children. With help from leadership experiences and other opportunities at Penn State, she's preparing for a career as a child-life specialist, where she will help children in hospitals understand their medical care.

Current Student—Marcie Whiston loves golf, and she is getting valuable preparation through internships, course work, and involvement in student clubs, where she can help plan and coordinate golf tournaments.

Past Student—Melissa Lennox planned on working with people with disabilities, and she prepared for this through innovative Recreation, Park and Tourism Management courses and an intensive internship.

Past Student—Matt Bird is passionate about golf and helping others. A graduate of the Professional Golf Management option of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management, Matt participated in internships, student clubs, and international trips that broadened his knowledge of the game.
