The Penn State Difference
Graduate programs in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management at Penn State offer small course sizes to create an intimate learning environment for students and allow for frequent and close interactions with faculty.
To further facilitate an exchange of ideas, the School of Hospitality Management holds a Research Roundtable series during which faculty and graduate students engage in discussions about industry trends and academic research and interact with guest presenters.
Doctoral students are required to present their work at academic conferences on a regular basis and to have at least two papers submitted to a refereed journal during their tenure at Penn State.
To enhance their teaching skills, and in preparation of their roles as future faculty, doctoral students are required to teach an undergraduate class in their area of specialization.
