Conti Symposium to Focus on Healthy, Cost-Effective Food
Creating healthy, cost-effective food will be the focus of an upcoming symposium hosted by Penn State’s Center for Food Innovation and Penn State’s School of Hospitality Management. “Stay One Step Ahead: Creation of Sustainable and Profitable Healthy Food Innovations” is the fourth symposium in the Conti Educational Series and will take place on Sunday, October 25, and Monday, October 26, 2009, at The Nittany Lion Inn located on Penn State’s University Park Campus. …More
Juran Fellowship Enhances Student's Research
Alinda Kokkinou, a doctoral student in the School of Hospitality Management, has been selected as a Juran Fellow for 2009 by the Joseph M. Juran Center for Leadership in Quality at the University of Minnesota.
The fellowship recognizes third- or fourth-year doctoral candidates “whose research shows the most promise in broadening and fueling thinking and practices in the area of quality in their chosen fields,” according to the Juran Fellowship Program Web site. 2008 Hospitality Executive of the Year
Penn State Hotel and Restaurant Society Names ARAMARK’s Andrew Kerin 2008 Hospitality Executive of the Year
Andrew Kerin, executive vice president, ARAMARK Corporation, and president, ARAMARK North America Food, Hospitality and Facility Services, has been named the 2008 Hospitality Executive of the Year by the Penn State Hotel and Restaurant Society (PSHRS). Mr. Kerin will receive the award during the 47th Hospitality Executive of the Year Award Dinner on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York City. As part of the honor, Mr. Kerin will also be inducted into the “Penn State Hospitality Hall of Fame,” located at the Nittany Lion Inn on Penn State’s University Park campus…more
