| Urban Community Partnership
Initiative
The community service learning
internship in Harrisburg will give College of Health and Human
Development students a unique
urban community experience. For students who are interested in
the helping professions this internship experience will serve as
a foundation for professional work in urban settings. Also, if
students are interested in community based research and service
learning, this internship will enable students to gain hands-on
experience in working with diverse populations.
Faculty members who are interested in conducting research
within Harrisburg should coordinate their efforts with the UCPI
Director to ensure that duplication of university and community
resources do not occur. The UCPI Director is keeping a comprehensive
inventory of community needs and university resources that will
be updated on a regular basis to assist faculty members as they
explore their research needs and the needs of the local community. |
