Many students have worked in the Infant and Child Temperament Lab since its inception in 1987. This list is in great need of updates, so if you are a former lab member please keep in touch!

Graduate Students

Julia M. Braungart-Riker, Ph.D.  Julie, who graduated from HDFS in 1992 is now an Associate Professor of Psychology at Notre Dame University. Julie continues to study infants and has begun to focus on the development of siblings within a family. Julie and her husband Joe have one son, Ryan and a girl named Megan.

Margaret Fish, Ph.D.  Margaret graduated in 1990 with a Ph.D. in Human Development. After graduation she returned to West Virginia to join her husband at Marshall University where she was a Clinical Associate Professor. Margaret has recently retired with her husband to the forests of Northern, CA.

Tracy Spinrad, Ph.D.   Tracy is now an Associate Professor in Family and Human Development at Arizona State University after doing a post-doctoral fellowship with Nancy Eisenberg. Tracy resides in the Phoenix area with her husband and two sons.

Sam Putnam, Ph.D.  Sam graduated in 1999 with a Ph.D. in Human Development. Following graduation, he relocated to University of Oregon with his family where he worked on a post-doctoral fellowship with Dr. Mary Rothbart. Sam, his wife, and two daughters are now living in Maine, as Sam is now an Assistant Professor at Bowdoin College.

Michael Bono, Ph.D.   Michael graduated in 1999 with a Ph.D. in Human Development. Following graduation he taught a few courses for the Psychology Dept. here at Penn State. Recently he and his family relocated to California. Michael was a post-doctoral fellow at UCLA working with Marian Sigman.

Jan Corey, M.S.   Jan successfully defended her Master's Thesis in July 2000. Jan is currently taking a leave of absence from the Ph.D. program, she and her husband have moved back to Wisconsin.

Laudii Jahromi, Ph.D.   Laudii graduated in 2004 with a Ph.D. in Human Development. Following graduation, she relocated to UCLA where she worked on a post-doctoral fellowship. Laudii is currently an Assistant Professor in Family and Human Development at Arizona State Univerity where she lives with her husband Chris.

Heather Warren, Ph.D.   Heather graduated in 2005 with a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies. She completed a Post-doctoral fellowship with the Prevention Research Center here at Penn State. Heather is currently a research associate at George Mason University where she works with Dr. Susan Denham.

 

Post-Docs

Anne Conway, Ph.D.   Anne completed her Early Childhood Mental Health Post-doctoral Fellowship in 2006. She is currently at the University of Pittsburgh to gain training in psychophysiological methods.

Amy Kennedy, Ph.D.   Amy completed her Post-doc in the Infant and Child Temperamenta Lab in 2006. She is currently working with Dr. Kenneth Rubin the University of Maryland.

 

Undergraduate Students

Kaci Barnes graduated with a bachelor degree in biology in May of 2003. Kaci is now living in Silver Spring, Maryland and working at the Department of Energy dealing with medical claims.

Mandy Brown graduated with a bachelors degree in biology in May of 2002.. Mandy has recently gotten married and moved to Hershey to attend Medical School.

Kelli Davis graduated with a bachelors in biology in May of 1999 at Penn State University and has recently graduated with her Masters Degree from the University of Georgia. Way to go Kelli!

Nicole Fortunato graduated in 1997, and she is currently in school to become a physician's assistant in Philadelphia. Also, congratulations are in order because Nicole just recently became engaged.

Katie Gloyer graduated in May of 2003 with a bachelors degree in biology. Katie is now attending medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Caitlin Graham graduated in May of 2002 with a bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Caitlin is working as a clinical research assistant at the Cystic Fibrosis Center in the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital.

Genevieve Hasek graduated with her bachelors degree in human development and family studies in May of 2004. Gen is now attending medical school at the Hershey Medical Center.

Megan Marshall graduated with her bachelors degree in biology in May of 2004. Megan will be attending graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh.

Cara McPartland graduated in 1997, and after a year at University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, she has decided to relocate to more attractive surroundings in Colorado.

Erin Pfeiffer is attending University of Washington in Seattle, and she studies genetics and epidemiology.

Erin Shirk graduated with her bachelors degree in biology in May of 2002. Erin accepted a position at the Veterinary Science Department here at Penn State as a Research Technologist.

Jennifer Spanier graduated in May of 2002 with a bachelors degree in biology.

Elizabeth Valentine graduated with her bachelors degree in biology in May of 2003. Liz is now attending medical school at the Hershey Medical Center.

Jennifer Whittle has relocated to Harrisburg where she, her husband and children can be closer to family.

Shannon Wood has received her B.S. in Human Development, and she is taking the next year to work. Also, Shannnon was married in December 1999 Congratulations Shannon!

Laura Whitekettle graduated in 2005 and is getting her Masters in Social Work at the University of Texas.

Tiffany Bogich graduated with a B.S. and Masters in Mathematics and Biology in 2006. She is currently working on her Ph.D. in Zoology at the Unveristy of Cambridge.

Cheryl Biggiol graduated with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies in 2006. She is currently working toward her Masters degree in Nursing at Johns Hopkins University.

Kristen Jozkowski graduated with a B.S. in Biobehavioral Health in 2006. She is currently in a PhD. program at Indiana University in Applied Health Sciences and Human Sexuality.

Adam Postel graduate with a B.S. in Life Sciences in 2006. He will be attending Dental School in the Fall.

 

Project Coordinators

Amy Bumpus and her family recently moved to California. Amy's husband received an Assistant Professor position at Chico State University. Their two son's, Jonathan and Scott were so helpful in piloting a lot of our measures. Amy and her husband just had another baby boy in 2002. Congratulations Amy!

Jennifer Morgan has recently gotten married to Jim and is now working as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania! Good luck Jen!

Kelly Confer is now working in the Prevention Research Center at Penn State. She is greatly missed here in the Infant and Child Temperament Lab.
